HIKING & BIKING

TOWN TRAILS

Meeker is surrounded by miles of trails right outside of town. Just north of town, the Phillip & Dorcas Jensen Memorial Park is 57 acres of rugged open space with groomed hiking and mountain biking trails for all skill levels. The trail system also provides access to additional BLM trails. Equestrian and motorized travel is not allowed. Trailheads with parking are at Sanderson Hills Park and Ute Park. Pedestrian only trailhead, with no parking, is at the top of 7th street.  Our park and trail systems are slated for continued development.

Trip Idea: Hike the China Wall trail to breathtaking views of Meeker from the northern bluffs.

FOREST trails

The Blanco Ranger District maintains about 350 miles of trails in the White River National Forest with varying levels of difficulty and distance. Hike through breathtaking scenery through Aspen groves, timber forests and wildflower meadows.

Trip Idea: Whether you consider it frightening, or thrilling, the Devil's Causeway in the White River National Forest offers hikers one of the most spectacular views in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area.

On a hot day, hike under the trees along the banks of the South Fork of the White River, begin at the South Fork Campground.
